The London Central Partnership has named GDC, a supplier of geographic e-government solutions, as its preferred supplier to deliver a pilot of the LondonCABI project. Established in January 2002, The London Central Partnership (LCP) comprises the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster City Council and the Corporation of London. The partnership has received funding from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister through the Local Government On Line initiative and aims to demonstrate the benefits of collaborative working and joined up services to its citizens across London.
In order to achieve these objectives the partnership has awarded GDC the contract to develop a pilot for the interface and the associated data sharing facilities. As preferred supplier for the pilot, GDC has partnered with Oracle, the world’s largest enterprise software company, GML experts Snowflake Software and MapInfo, a leading provider of mapping and GIS software solutions to the public sector, to develop a collaborative system for the partnership to collate their geographical information in a data store and to deliver this information to citizens and visitors via all the Partnership web sites. GDC creates Geographically Intelligent Solutions to inform clients’ business decisions by answering the question “Where?” GDC are MapInfo’s largest UK Premier Partner focussing on Local e-Government and Location Based Risk Evaluation within the Insurance industry.
GDC’s GeoPlatform for Local e-Government combines PlanWeb, the market web GIS, PlanAccess, and OGC compliant web map server and GeoStore, an open spatial data warehouse, to provide the geographic infrastructure for a corporate e-Government deployment.
