Pictometry wins bid for aerial imaging for US county

New York, USA, 5 June 2006: Pictometry International Corp., a provider of digital, aerial oblique imagery and measuring software, announced on June 5 that it has won a bid for oblique aerial imaging and software for Hennepin County , Minneapolis. The county is expected to take delivery of the imaging and software in the summer of 2006.

Agencies within the county that will be using the new visual information system will be the Sheriff’s Office, the County Attorney’s office, Home Land Security, Emergency Preparedness, Taxpayer Services, and the Assessor’s Office and local government agencies within Hennepin County.

Pictometry’s software enables users to access up to 12 different oblique (3D-like) high-resolution views of any property, building, highway, landmark, or other feature in a county. The software also enables users to obtain measurements directly from the georeferenced imagery as well as insert and overlay GIS and other data.
