US: Richard M. Hurwitz is the new President and CEO of Pictometry International Corporation. He is replacing Richard A. Kaplan who is retiring on 31 July 2010. Kaplan will, however, continue to serve as a member of the company’s board of directors.

Over the last 10 years, Kaplan has delivered on his vast experience establishing new ventures by successfully leading Pictometry to prominence in the geospatial industry, steering it from start-up to high growth, and from a domestic to a global enterprise.

Hurwitz who has served as the Chairman of Pictometry’s Board for the past seven years has a track-record of building high growth technology-based service companies. He is likely to focus on amplifying Pictometry’s unique position within the geospatial industry and in bringing appropriate planning and follow-up and control of the operations.
