Philippines gets Senix sensors for flood warning

SHARE

Philippines: The Philippine government has asked Senix Corporation to provide it with ToughSonic ultrasonic level and distance sensors which can be used in the country’s flood warning systems. As the Philippine archipelago is among the most flood-prone in the world, the Philippine Department of Science and Technology (DOST) wants to use these sensors to assess risks associated with tropical rains, storm surges and tsunamis. In fact, even the city streets are being outfitted with urban flood monitoring stations equipped with Senix sensors. All sensor platforms are integrated with centralized flood information systems in near real-time. This allows the government to warn at-risk communities with flood warnings at least six hours in advance.
