Indian software solution provider PCS Industries, in a bid to enter the GIS and GPS segment has recently acquired Infodesk Pvt Ltd, a company that has proven track record in the segment. Post takeover, Infodesk has become a wholly owned subsidiary of PCS and has been rechristened PCS Infodesk.
PCS Infodesk offers a range of GIS services to cater to the spatial data requirements for a host of applications globally. With its claimed-to-be state-of-the-art technology and skilled GIS and remote sensing specialists, the GIS Services Division (GSD) at PCS Infodesk offers solutions across the value-chain spectrum from map conversion, digitisation to advanced digital image processing of remotely sensed satellite data.
PCS Infodesk also has in-house expertise on all major GIS and remote sensing applications such as Arc Info, Arc View, Map Info, Intergraph, Autocad Map, ERMapper, and ERDAS.
The company is also looking at a sizeable portion of market in which it operates in neighbouring countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Bhutan.
These countries are serviced by PCS International which operates out of Dubai but the service part is provided by centers which are close to these countries. For example, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh is serviced mainly by the eastern regional offices.
