Paraguay receives grant for forest preservation

Paraguay: An agreement was signed between Oscar Rivas, Environment Minister, Paraguay and Akiko Omori, Project Manager, Japan International Cooperation System (JICS). Under this agreement, Japan provided USD 7 million grant to Paraguay for forest preservation in protected areas located in Concepcion, Ñeembucú, Caazapá and Chaco Central.

In each of these protected areas, specialised laboratories for monitoring, reporting and verification of environmental conditions will be installed. The laboratory will get aid of satellite images, geographic information and analysis of weather conditions on water, air and soil.
