Pakistan education atlas project launched

Pakistan: A ‘Pakistan Education Atlas’ project has been launched to improve the dissemination of educational statistics and indicators by using GIS technologies.

The project initiated in 2010, was completed in collaboration with the World Food Programme, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Academy of Educational Planning and Management (AEPAM) in the capital.

Education and Training Federal Minister Sheikh Waqas Akram appreciated the efforts of the AEPAM and thanked the World Food Programme.

He said, “The new system will help us make sound educational planning, monitoring and evaluation.” He desired that the system should be extended to union council level.
