Ordnance Survey passes milestone in OS MasterMap take-up business and government customers have placed more than 10,000 data orders for Ordnance Survey’s revolutionary standard in intelligent, highly detailed geographic information OS MasterMap. The milestone figure caps a doubling of orders over the past two years, enabled by a series of enhancements to system and server capacity, order processing and data supply.

OS MasterMap is specifically designed to be managed as a fully integrated database within customers’ own IT systems, offering better decision making across all kinds of business activity. OS MasterMap contains around half a billion topographic and other features represented by unique identifiers or TOIDs, which enable intelligence within the data to be shared and analysed easily and cost effectively. There are a series of layers: Topography, Address, Imagery and Integrated Transport Network.
