Debating issues around the mass market consumer adoption of LBS is the focus of a free one day seminar at Ordnance Survey’s Southampton Business Centre. LBS covers a wide range of applications complementing traditional internet and paper maps and guides, and helping users to find local amenities such as pubs, bars, restaurants or shops. They also enable businesses and others organisations to improve customer services and reduce costs through improved asset, fleet and workforce management.
Speakers from throughout the value chain, including data suppliers, LBS retailers, middleware providers and operators, will be presenting at the seminar, titled ‘From business models to real applications’. Ordnance Survey is hosting the event with Pinpoint Faraday, a collaboration between academics, industry and government to promote the benefits of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) technologies in new and existing markets. The event takes place on 2 November.
