Ordnance Survey becomes mapping partner for The Tour of Britain

UK: Ordnance Survey has signed a new five year agreement with SweetSpot, the organisers of The Tour of Britain, to become the official mapping partner across their portfolio of cycling events.The agreement will see detailed maps from Ordnance Survey being used across The Friends Life Women’s Tour, Pearl Izumi Tour Series, Tour Ride 100 and The Tour of Britain events.

The digital maps from Ordnance Survey will provide information and insight to the event organisers, cycling teams, individual cyclists and the thousands of spectators who will be attending the events. Nick Giles, Managing Director of Ordnance Survey Ltd, said: “The agreement also builds on the recent launch of our new free cycling app, OS Ride, which allows road cyclists to ride the routes of the professionals.”
