Orbit to provide satellite tracking systems to Russia

Israel: Orbit Technologies Ltd. bagged NIS (New Israeli Shekel) 5.6 million contract from the Russian Federal Space Agency to supply low-earth orbit remote sensing satellite tracking and communications systems for ground stations.

Orbit CEO Ofer Greenberger said that the order, the company’s second Russian order this year, opens the important Russian space market to the company.

The first stage of the project includes the installation of several systems to fully track low-earth orbit satellites, which cover Russia. The company expects follow-on orders for supplementary systems and other applications.
