SHARE

Jerusalem, Israel, August 23, 2007: OpenLM announced the launch of the OpenLM solution for ESRI ArcGIS version 1.2.0 for floating license users. OpenLM for ESRI ArcGIS is designed to leverage your investment in the popular ESRI Desktop ArcGIS family of products: ArcView, ArcEditor and ArcInfo. OpenLM offers an improvement in the availability of software license for the end users and has a significant influence on users productivity.

The main focus of version 1.2.0 is on the user interface of the system with some major improvements in OpenLM internal algorithms. Enhancements in the 1.2.0 version:

OpenLM Server

  • The new OpenLM server software is providing for a much easier and faster configuration. The initial configuration to set the product up and running, requires only one single setting.
  • Immediate help bubbles are available now for each configuration setting of OpenLM.
  • Fully automated handling of licenses is set to solve the problem when a license is registered by the server as being in-use, but in fact it was released already by the user (as a system manager you will not need to restart the server for reset). The automated solution by the OpenLM software also solve other problems with FLEXnet license management – You will never have to type any LMUTIL command again.
  • OpenLM server is now storing locally (on your system only!) a lot of useful information about the license usage in your organization. This data will be available for you to be investigated in the next version of OpenLM.

    OpenLM Agent and Extension

  • OpenLM icon in the notification area is now indicating the status of the connectivity to OpenLM server (such as network connectivity icons).
  • User can display the status of the available licenses at any time by right clicking on the OpenLM icon which is located in the windows notification area.
  • The distribution of OpenLM client (Agent) is now very simple, with any automated software distribution system. OpenLM client MSI currently support silent install.
