Kenya: OSGeo is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to support the collaborative development of open source geospatial software, and promote its widespread use has joined Global Land Tool Network (GLTN) as a partner.
GLTN is an alliance of global regional and national partners contributing to poverty alleviation through land reform, improved land management and security of tenure particularly through the development and dissemination of pro-poor and gender-sensitive land tools. The foundation provides financial, organisational and legal support to the broader open source geospatial community.
As a GLTN Partner, OSGeo will contribute to the development and evolution of the STDM project. OSGeo is also anticipated to support training and education through encouraging STDM themes at OSGeo's conferences and workshops.
OSGeo also serves as an outreach and advocacy organisation for the open source geospatial community, and provides a common forum and shared infrastructure for improving cross-project collaboration. The foundation's projects are all freely available and usable under an OSI-certified open source license.
