Ohio Department of Transportation selects MapText software

MapText has announced that the Ohio Department of Transportation (DOT) has selected the Company’s software system, Label-EZ for its map production operations. MapText’s software will be used to place names on maps according to the highest cartographic standards, quickly and cost-effectively. MapText’s Label-EZ is fully compatible with all major GIS systems used by DOT’s.

MapText is a label placement solutions provider for local, state, and national government mapping agencies worldwide. Its software places text automatically for virtually any kind of map or chart – to high cartographic standards and at incredible speed.

The GIS and mapping group within Ohio DOT is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive and integrated GIS and incorporating the department’s Linear Referencing System (LRS). The department is currently in the process of migrating all mapping activity to a GeoMedia-based solution and will be using Label-EZ in that workflow.
