OGC appoints advisory council member from Middle East

Bahrain: Dr. Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Haidan, Director, GIS Directorate, Central Informatics Organisation (CIO) has been appointed as a member of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Global Advisory Council. He is the only member in the council from the Middle-east region.

The council advises OGC on its global outreach and organisational strategies, and acts as a centre for education and worldwide member recruitment.

OGC is an international industry consortium of 4I6 companies, government agencies and universities that collectively develop worldwide Geospatial data standards. Technology developers work in accordance with the standards to make complex spatial information and services accessible all over the world.
