NRA maps out deal with ESRI Ireland

The National Roads Authority (NRA) in Ireland is to use a computerised system to map Ireland’s roads, as part of a new deal with ESRI Ireland. ESRI will implement the new scheme for the NRA in a bid to manage Ireland’s expanding road network. The system will be able to monitor the large amount of data the NRA records through its road surveys and programmes. Such information includes road surface materials, maintenance records, surface condition, signage, drainage, bridges and other structures, as well as traffic accidents. This information may come in useful in the future and may also help improve road safety.
