North West Geomatics Ltd. has added a second ADS40 Airborne Digital Sensor to its service offerings. The company purchased a second digital sensor due to a significant surge in demand for digital imagery from its clients. The company plans to use its new sensor on various digital ortho projects throughout the United States, as well as to service VISTA, a project for the company’s Valtus Imagery Services division in Canada.
Since purchasing its first ADS40 in 2002, North West has been hugely successful in obtaining and processing digital ortho-photos for both small and large-scale formats. Earlier in 2003, North West teamed with business partners EarthData and Horizons, Inc. to carry out the largest completely digital ortho-photo project to date, the acquisition of digital imagery over 90,000 square miles of land in Nebraska. The company is also involved in acquiring digital imagery of the state of Florida for digital ortho-photos.
