Nigeria to honour contribution in town planning

Nigeria: Peter Obi, Anambra State Governor, Nigeria, has been nominated for the award of Honorary Fellowship of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners. According to a statement from the Secretary of the institute, the honour is in recognition of his immense contribution in promoting town planning and physical development in urban and rural communities.

Governor Obi’s administration provided and equipped town planning drawing office and GIS Laboratory with the state-of-art technology in the area of physical planning, provided brand new vehicles for physical planning activities.

The administration has also provided base map for the state, which has aided the production of contoured plans for meaningful layout designs, various utility plans and maps for development as well as encouraged the quick realisation of Ngozika Housing Estate and the Hill View Estate at Awka and Nkwelle Ezunaka, respectively.
