Niger Delta Dev. Comm. uses imagery to monitor projects

Nigeria: The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) said it would, henceforth, use satellite imagery to monitor projects executed by the commission. The commission’s Director of Projects, Mr Beniah Ojum, said this after signing a MOU with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in Port-Harcourt.

Under the MOU, subject to renewal after one year, he said the UNITAR office in Nigeria would be responsible for the management and administration of the project. According to him, an implementation team would be constituted by the NDDC.

Ojum said that the NDDC team would be in charge of monitoring and application of funds while UNITAR would manage training and capacity building for good governance and sustainable development.
