Africa, September 12, 2014: Charity Ngilu, Lands Cabinet Secretary has recently ordered the survey of land in Bargoni, Hindi division in Lamu West in Kenya.
On Monday, September 8, Ngilu officially revoked the maps and ordered lists of those claiming compensation for Lapsset land.
She launched a fresh identification and survey exercise at the site as more than 100 surveyors, consultants and physical planners were deployed to the area to accelerate the process.
Ngilu mentioned that the President Uhuru Kenyatta instructed her to address all land issues in the region before the Lamu Port South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport project begins.
The move will enable genuine land owners to get back land that they rightfully own.
