NGA expands agreement with NAVTEQ

US: NAVTEQ announced that the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Homeland Security Infrastructure Program (HSIP) has expanded its agreement with NAVTEQ to permit State government entities, designated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), direct download access to NAVTEQ data.

This agreement enables standardised use of NAVTEQ map data across federal and state government entities in support of the DHS mission. Federal and state government entities that will benefit from this agreement include State Fusion Centers, State Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), State GIS Coordinators, State National Guard Joint Operations Centers and State Emergency Management Coordinators.

“By having download access of the NAVTEQ map, Federal and State homeland security entities now have a common foundation for DHS mission situation awareness, operations and emergency response planning,” said Roy Kolstad, Vice President, Enterprise Americas, NAVTEQ. “Our focus continues to be on the quality, accuracy and freshness of the data, all critical requirements to effectively support DHS mission requirements”.
