The first version of a TJS Service was developed as an extension of Geoserver by the GEOCUBA Business Group. Its capabilities, user references, publications and development phases are described. It is the OGC Table Joining Service (TJS) specification for defining a geo statistical data Internet exchange mode in the form of a standard web service. The distributed data do not contain geometric information but are ‘geoloca d’ by an identifier such as the code of a municipality or a company, zip code, a road section identifier, etc. It is currently used by HidroSIG (Water Resources Information System of Cuba), Geonovum and the Dutch Cadastre in the context of a European project of the Dutch Cadastre on Health Statistics by geographic region, and the National Mapping Agency of France (in French IGN).
