US: Federal officials plan to complete new proposed flood maps for Broward County, in the state of Florida. “The Broward maps are expected to take effect by July next year,” said a spokeswoman for Federal Emergency Management Agency. “It appears that quite a bit of the area will not be in a flood zone, which will save a lot of people”s money,” said Joe Pallant, a real estate agent. The new maps will help clear up confusion about which areas are considered risky and insurance cost, which may help real-estate sales.
