Saudi Arabia: A total of six gold and two copper deposits have been discovered in Saudi Arabia since 2010, according to a recent announcement from the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS). “A number of key achievements have been made by SGS in the field of metallic and nonmetallic minerals,” said Zuhair Nawab, SGS president. "SGS conducted detailed excavations, and more recently, completed topographic surveys, collected surface samples, made detailed maps, conducted geophysical studies and pulpous drilling to evaluate the reserves of raw materials and their density. The sediments themselves are enough to attract mining companies for further investments,” added Nawab was quoted as saying in the report, which cited a local newspaper.
