August 5,2002-Geographic Data Technology, Inc., a developer of map databases, has announced the latest release of its Dynamap Street and address products, featuring 6.9 million miles of roadway throughout the United States and Canada with ongoing positional enhancements throughout North America.
During the preceding quarter, GDT added 20,000 miles of new streets to its database and realigned more than 100,000 miles of streets to an accuracy level of 12 meters or better. With the latest release of its Dynamap Street and address products, GDT now has 1.5 million miles of positionally accurate streets in the U.S. As part of its ongoing quality control checks, GDT tests its realignment efforts using the most current and reliable standard for measuring spatial data accuracy. These tests consistently show that GDT’s realignment efforts achieve 5 to 7 meter accuracy, exceeding the 12-meter accuracy levels of other commercial databases. This latest data release also includes a 4 percent increase in traffic count points and a 6 percent increase in one-way streets to improve efficiency within routing applications.
