GeoDecisions, providing spatial solutions to the transportation industry, was selected by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to provide Geographic Information Systems and IT consulting services through a second open-end contract that will run through 2004. During the first open-end contract with NDOT, GeoDecisions delivered a research paper on bridge management systems and worked on two custom applications.

The first application, Traffic Information Access (TRINA) – Phase I, is a Web-based application that provides mapping and reporting of traffic count and vehicle classification data to NDOT through its intranet site. This application was completed in November 2002. The next phase of TRINA, scheduled to begin later this year, will enhance and expand the functionality of the Web application, making portions of the data available to the public via the Internet.

GeoDecisions completed a detailed requirements analysis for a proposed update to NDOT’s existing Location Information System (LOIS) for the second custom application. When completed, LOIS will provide a Web-based map interface and other tools for selecting survey monuments of interest and displaying information about them.
