Chicago, USA: NAVTEQ, provider of digital maps for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, announced an agreement with TeleNav, under which NAVTEQ will extend and expand an existing relationship to supply global digital maps.
TeleNav provides services for all of the major U.S. wireless carriers. It was the first to launch connected GPS navigation on mobile phones in North America. In addition to its partnerships with U.S. wireless carriers, TeleNav also provides services for several carriers in Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

NAVTEQ and TeleNav embarked on a relationship in 2002 when TeleNav selected NAVTEQ to supply map data. With this new multi-year, multi-country agreement, NAVTEQ plays an important and integral role in TeleNav’s international growth with map coverage in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Brazil and Europe. The deal also allows TeleNav the rights to use NAVTEQ map data with core and extended Points of Interest (POIs).
