Chicago, USA, 11 June 2007: NAVTEQ has released its first digital map coverage in Turkey. The map of Turkey covers a population of more than 13 million and includes over 1,000 administrative places such as cities.

The initial release contains over 28,000 kilometers of navigable roads for the cities of Istanbul and Ankara. The major highways, secondary roads, and arterial streets in these cities have been verified against 615+ validation rules and conform to NAVTEQ’s standard global data specification.

Additionally, the NAVTEQ map of Turkey contains connector roads throughout the country, connecting the country’s largest cities to each other and linking Turkey to Bulgaria and Greece.
