Navitrak has announced that it has signed distribution agreements with the first two resellers for its new Digital Navigation Assistant(TM) (DNA) product as the initial steps in establishing a global network of resellers. The two new partners are Wade Company Limited, who will focus on Eastern Canada, and ArkAir AB, who has an established network of agents throughout Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
Both ArkAir and Wade Company noted the DNA’s positioning in the GPS space as a major factor in their decision to represent the product for Navitrak. Designed and built to military specifications for ruggedness, the DNA is unique in its ability to collect field data while standing up to the rigors of fieldwork. Its ruggedized design offers maximum protection against rain and extreme temperatures, and it is capable of displaying USGS raster maps in all sunlight conditions on its state-of-the-art micro-display.
The DNA is a handheld GPS-based moving map display unit designed for precise navigation and GIS data collection. It features a user-friendly interface, the ability to display different types of map data including topographical maps and satellite images, and has up to 128 MB of secure, removable memory. It also comes bundled with a high-precision, tilt- compensated electronic compass, and field data entry capability for geographic information system (GIS) applications.
