Navitrak International Corporation announced that it has extended the functionality of its airborne AeroNavitraker(TM) product suite to include enhanced street address lookup, and the display of vector rendered street maps with dynamic labeling. These new features will aid airborne personnel in quickly identifying the location of an event, decreasing their response time.
The street address lookup not only marks the location on the map, it also displays a flight line, bearing and estimated time of arrival. In addition, the airborne operator can click on a section of street to identify the block address range. Locations can also be displayed on various geo-referenced map types, including topographical maps, vector-based maps and satellite imagery.
The AeroNavitraker is a GPS-based moving map display that integrates with forward-looking infrared and video cameras for geo-referenced video recording. It shows where the aircraft is, what direction it is heading, and where the camera is looking. All of this data can be transmitted in real time via microwave to a ground support station. Designed to serve the navigation needs of law enforcement, search and rescue, military, utilities, and government firefighting and forestry services, this unbeatable combination provides unsurpassed accuracy, advanced features and real-time advantage for the airborne observer.
