Navigation Technologies has announced digital map coverage in Oman and updated coverage of the United Arab Emirates. The coverage is now available on a single CD and allows for seamless travel between the two countries. This announcement follows Navigation Technologies’ introduction of digital map coverage throughout the Gulf region including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
Navigation Technologies’ detailed coverage of Oman covers nearly 1,500 miles of digitally mapped roads, including Oman’s capital city, Muscat, and the city of Buraymi. The update in the United Arab Emirates covers more than 7,700 miles and includes addressing and zoning details in the Emirate of Dubai, as well as several new cities and verified data in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In addition, the United Arab Emirates’ major road network has been completely updated.
Coverage of these areas enables in-car navigation systems, Internet and wireless solutions and other business applications to provide detailed directions and to identify destinations or points of interest such as restaurants, hotels, shopping centers, gas stations and banks. In addition, coverage also includes detailed attributes such as road sign text and other categories that help optimize routes.
