National GIS training programme begins in Bahrain

Bahrain: A national programme aimed at training public employees on GIS has commenced in Bahrain. “Twenty-trainees from eight ministries and government departments will attend the five-day scheme”, GIS Director at the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO) Dr. Khalid Al-Haidan said.

The Strategic Geospatial Information System Directorate lined up the scheme as part of its role to promote human resources towards supporting the development momentum in Bahrain.

US-based Tech Me GIS experts will conduct the programme, which features two courses titled “Fundamentals of ArcGIS v10” and Intermediate GIS Concepts v10.
