MultiVision introduced its expanded 3D modeling capabilities during a recent international GIS and property appraiser’s conference held at Orlando. Using breakthrough 3D modeling technology, users can see and analyze the impact of changes in city landscapes, natural disasters, like floods, hurricanes, earthquakes and other man-made events.
For example, the MultiVision system can take oblique images of any flood plane and create 3D models that show the devastation a flood can have with 1-foot floodwater increments, said David Ledgerwood, senior Vice President. This new capability can change the way disaster preparation and response planning is accomplished. By doing advanced modeling different strategies can be analyzed and decision/events can be quantified. When an unfortunate event occurs, after the fact aerial imagery can be used to validate and potentially shorten response cycle times.
