Municipal Software Corporation, a developer of local government business process automation software and a wholly owned subsidiary of Municipal Solutions Group, Inc. (TSX: MSM),has announced that it has been recognized by Microsoft Corporation as a World-wide winner in the fifth annual Microsoft Certified Partner Awards in the Packaged Application category.
Municipal Software, along with other worldwide winners in each of the nine award categories, was honoured at Microsoft’s Fusion 2002 partner event in Los Angeles, CA on July 12th. The company was recognized for its City View software product. City View, a fully integrated suite of software products, assists municipal administrators and managers with scalable technology solutions for increasing municipal government productivity in order to service citizens and communities more efficiently and effectively. City View 8.NET Enterprise (version 8.1) is powerful automation software that is designed specifically for local government and easily converts paper systems and business processes into a computerized system without costly and time-consuming programming. It enables E-government by allowing government to automate any business process internally and offer it over an Intranet or the Web with the click of a button.
City View 8.NET Enterprise incorporates Microsoft’s .net technology. The incorporation of Microsoft’s .net technology allows City View to take any form and report and save it as an. ASPX page that maintains the full functionality of the desktop form and allows it to be accessed through the Web. The .net technology allows Municipal Software Corporation to provide their users with a fully functional browser interface. City View 8.NET Enterprise also incorporates ESRI’s Map Objects to allow direct links to mapping data so users can deploy maps with their Web forms and reports by using ESRI’s ArcIMS. City View 8.NET Enterprise automatically completes the entire configuration necessary to make this work.
In particular, Municipal Software Corporation was recognized for the work it completed for Florida’s Moyer & Associates. Moyer & Associates is a server provider to local government. They used CityView to distribute automation to its local government clients as an application service provider (ASP). CityView 8.NET allowed clients to access their forms and information over the Web and enabled Moyer to combine its information and licensing into a single database, while giving each client access only to the records for its own jurisdiction. This ability is a significant advantage, because it reduces Moyer’s cost of doing business, and its clients cost to use Moyer’s services.
