Mexico publishes new SNIEG technical standard

Mexico: A Mexican journal recently published the new ‘Technical Standard for the Production, Acquisition and Integration of Cadastral and Registry data for Statistical and Geographical Purposes’. The new technical standard aims to strengthen the National Statistical and Geographic Information System of Mexico (SNIEG).

This Technical Standard was approved by the Board of Governors on the 7th Session of December 6, 2011. It is compulsory to use for every government body. For its implementation, government units must conclude cooperation agreements with the INEGI (National Institute of Statistics and Geography). It promotes harmonisation and uniformity in the production, acquisition and integration of cadastral and registry data for statistical and geographical purposes. This information will be part of the national cartographic database.
