2 August 2006: Matrox Graphics will demonstrate the Matrox Extio F1400, the remote graphics unit, at the upcoming APCO Annual Conference and Exposition from 7th to 9th of August. With this solution, the user interface of the computer – the keyboard, mouse, monitors, audio peripherals, and graphics hardware – can be separated from the rest of the computer by up to 250 meters (820 feet) of fiber-optic cable. The critical components of the computer can be kept away from the user in a separate, safe, secure room. This saves space at the user station, removes a potentially noisy computer and, most importantly, allows system administrators to access and maintain the system at a separate location.
Designed for mission-critical environments, the Extio F1400 features support for up to 4 digital or analog monitors, passive cooling for silent operation and extra reliability and has 6 USB ports for keyboard, mouse and other USB peripherals.
