US: Officials from the City of Muscatine in Iowa and the Army Corps of Engineers have developed maps to manage possible breach of the Mississippi River embankment.
Experts at the University of Iowa”s Stanley Hydraulics Lab and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources have given warnings about the possible flooding of the Mississippi River. GIS systems analysts for the Muscatine Area Geographic Information Consortium (MAGIC) have used ArcGIS Online to build an interactive Web map that can be shared internally and with the public via the Internet. MAGIC server controls the security for all the applications. The map is published online along with the Army Corps of Engineers study presentation.
