Maponics expands coverage to more continents

US: Maponics, provider of location-based data, announced that its latest release of the Neighborhood Boundaries product line will expand coverage to include some top metro areas in South America, Middle East, Africa and Asia. The product release adds new neighbourhood boundaries across all geographies, bringing the worldwide total to over 105,000 in 42 countries. In addition to wider geographical coverage, Maponics continues to provide deeper coverage for core US and Canadian markets, with new neighbourhoods in 100 cities.

“Maponics’ commitment to quality and its continued expansion of the neighbourhood boundary database allows us to provide our site visitors with a comprehensive real estate search experience,” said Alex Lange, CTO of Roost. “It is clear that our customers want the option to view information at the neighborhood level and with the scope and quality of data we license from Maponics, we can deliver on that.”

“We continue to hear from our customers that international neighbourhood coverage is vital to their plans to add cultural and location context to everything from local search to social networking,” said Darrin Clement, CEO of Maponics. “This release shows how our aggressive expansion plan continues to represent significant value to existing and new customers—allowing them to make better decisions and offer more relevant Web and mobile-based services.” Maponics Neighborhood Boundaries is available to license in numerous GIS data formats and through its Spatial API for mashups or other online access.
