India: MapmyIndia has launched a new location-based app called ‘ReachMe’, which allows users to instantly share their location with select friends or contacts of their choice with a single tap. The app allows single-tap location sharing to share their location with the group. The app will share the location over SMS but a user can also send the link to their location via social networks and apps like WhatsApp, Twitter, Skype, Facebook and email. Users can also share a PIN if the recipient also uses the app. The receiver can then open the link or can enter this PIN in the app to see the details of the sender’s current location.

The app integrates MapmyIndia maps, and allows users to also check an optimal route to the sender’s location. “We will keep on expanding this family with an objective to offer apps that are not just innovative and highly functional but also are fun to have. Encouraging more and more people to benefit from GPS Navigation technology,” says Rakesh Verma, Managing Director, MapmyIndia. The app is available for free on all major smartphone platforms including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and phone’s browser.
