MapmyIndia launches CarPad for navigation

New Delhi, India: MapmyIndia in association with Qualcomm Inc. launched CarPad in India. It is powered by Android and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S1 processor.

Rakesh Verma, Managing Director, MapmyIndia, said, “CarPad will revolutionise the way people travel in cars in India – because of the simple, ingenious way in which it offers navigation, entertainment, connectivity and productivity to everyone in the car, be it in the back-seat or the front-seat. For the industry, we see CarPad heralding a new era of the smart, connected car – seamlessly merging the consumer’s connected lifestyle into the car.”

According to company’s press statement, the CarPad comes with pre-installed with Aura, MapmyIndia’s latest navigation interface with full 3D navigation and India’s most detailed maps, including house numbers, as well as city & travel guides. It leverages connectivity by streaming photographs of places and letting users discover people and friends nearby, share their location and message with others – connecting users to everyone and everything around them. It enables users to call, message, mail and chat using its in-built 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies.
