MapInfo appoints Thomas Massie to board of directors

MapInfo Corporation provider of location intelligence solutions for the enterprise announced the appointment of Thomas L. Massie to its Board of Directors. By providing strategic counsel and leadership, Massie has successfully positioned a variety of technology companies to capitalize on market trends and increase revenue. He joins MapInfo’s current Board of Directors including Chairman of the Board John C. Cavalier, MapInfo President and CEO Mark Cattini, Business Objects Vice President of Worldwide Professional Services Joni Kahn, First Albany Companies Chairman George C. McNamee, NMS Communications Chairman and CEO Robert P. Schechter, and Co-
founder of Decision Point Solutions Quinn H. Tran. In 2000, Mr. Massie founded Bridgeline Software, where he continues to serve as President and CEO. Companies such as John Hancock, The Bank of New York and the National Education Association have selected Bridgeline Software for their content management solutions and Web development requirements. From 1991 to 2000, Mr. Massie was the Founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of FOCUS Enhancements, where he led the company from its original business plan to a public market cap of more than $230 million. In addition, Mr. Massie founded MASS Microsystems, where he served as Chairman of the Board from 1986 to 1991, and co-founded MacMemory in 1984. In addition, Mr. Massie is an active member of SBANE (Smaller Business Association of New England) and a member of the Board of Directors of The Hockey Academy, a multi-million dollar hockey program management company. Mr. Massie was a decorated non-commissioned Officer for the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division, from 1979 to 1983.
