USA – Mapcom Systems, has signed strategic alliance agreement with PAETEC Software Corp., a provider of innovative communication business solutions.
The signing coincides with the release of new software solutions from both companies that enable the integration of PAETEC Software Corp’s PINNACLE Communication Management suite with maps derived in Mapcom’s M4 Geographical Operations System (GOS).
José Rodríguez, director of Technology Resources – Business Services, at Texas State University in San Marcos says that this unique combination of the PAETEC and Mapcom solution enables organization to save significant time and resources through an integrated technology offering and helps in vendor-selection process.
This new integration allows businesses and institutions to geographically visualize and proactively manage their communications infrastructure. Users can now launch a Mapcom image through the PINNACLE application to open a web-based map of the selected infrastructure and can drill down to view specific buildings, floors, jacks, equipment, cables, and circuit and port-level views as well as their associated data records.
Both the companies believe that the software integration would quickly perform end-to-end traces and highlight the circuit and signal paths, creating the ability to remotely visualize various network components in correct geographic space.
This allows technicians and even frontline customer service representatives to quickly identify inter-dependencies and common points of failure while diagnosing possible resolution procedures without escalation. The result is enhanced customer service and more efficient use of resources.
Chuck Flournoy, Chief Operating Officer of Mapcom Systems said in a statement that the level of integration provides an unprecedented degree of on-demand detailed visualization, which will help enterprise customers to improve the management of their communications infrastructure.
He added, “The alliance extends the power of an industry-leading enterprise communications management application by adding ‘visual intelligence’ to customer care through an easy-to-use, map-based format that is geographically accurate.”
