Map India 2003 is the 6th annual international conference and exhibition on geographic information technologies like GIS, GPS, Aerial Photography and Remote Sensing. Map India 2003 will be held from 28-31 January 2003, at Hotel Grand Inter – Continental, New Delhi, India. The conference will be jointly organised by CSDMS, GIS Development Pvt. Ltd., Survey of India and National Consortium on Remote Sensing in Transportation (NCRST)

Theme
Theme of Map India 2003 is “g-Readiness ”. In order to understand the growth and advancement of a nation, it is important to measure and analyse the status of “g-Readiness” of the country. Geographic information generation, availability, accessibility, policy framework and utilisation by organizations and citizens, form the core parameters to measure the g-Readiness of a country.

Call For Papers:
Papers are invited on the above-mentioned themes and others falling within the scope of the conference. We look forward for presentations and contributions of individuals from Government, Industry and Academia.

Guidelines for Authors:
Authors are requested to send extended abstracts of their paper or presentations. Extended Abstracts can be submitted electronically via EMAIL in MS Word format or through post on a neatly typed A4 size paper. The extended abstracts should clearly state the purpose, results and conclusions of the work to be described in the final paper. The extended abstracts should be around 1000 words. After evaluation by the Technical Committee the authors would be asked to send their full papers. The word limit for full Papers is around 3000 words and can be accompanied by not more than 4 Pictures/illustrations/figures.

    Last date of Submission of Extended Abstracts – 15 October 2002

    Exhibition
    An integral part of Map India 2003 is the Exhibition on GIS, GPS, Remote Sensing, Aerial Photography and related technologies. Over 1500 visitors are expected visit the exhibition to explore the potential of this technology, allowing an opportunity for exhibitors to develop markets and promote their products and services. Entry to the exhibition is free but by invitation only. Passes will be provided to Exhibitors well in time, for their distribution.

    Commercial Show
    Map India 2003 will provide a unique opportunity for vendors to introduce companies, products and services or to showcase their technological expertise and solutions to a targeted segment. This is an excellent opportunity for overseas companies to tap the fastest growing market for GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing in this part of the world for which separate halls will be available at an additional cost. The organisers will provide adequate promotion to the programme by including it in the programme schedule and making regular announcements.
