Malaysia eyes satellite manufacturing business

Malaysia: Malaysia aims to become the hub for satellite manufacturing service providers for Southeast Asia with the completion of its Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) facility in mid-2012, according to N.Gobalakrishnan, Malaysian representative at the Fourth Committee of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly, on Agenda Item 51: International Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

They include vibration test system, thermal vacuum chamber, mass property measurement system, electromagnetic compatibility chamber, reverberation acoustic test facility and alignment measurement system.

“To further our commitment to the international cooperation in peaceful uses of outer space, Malaysia is finalising its National Space Policy. We expect to complete the exercise by the end of this year,” said Gobalakrishnan, who is Padang Serai member of parliament.
