London receives £3-mn grant for 3D digital utilities mapping

London: London has been given a £3m grant to carry out a number of high-tech initiatives including creating 3D maps of its utilities infrastructure and an automated inquiry system on road work projects, to help reduce congestion and air pollution in the city.

The funding has come from the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and as part of its Future Cities Demonstrator funding programme, which saw Glasgow given £24m for a number of tech-related projects across the city.
