Dubai, UAE, 11 August 2006: GIS Development, India and Space Reconnaissance Centre, UAE are jointly organising Location Middle East 2006, an International Conference on Positioning, Navigation and Timing during September 11-12, 2006 at Sheraton Abu Dhabi Resort and Tower, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Location Middle East 2006 will provide a platform for discussion and deliberation on technology applications and policy issues related to positioning technology. The conference will have keynote addresses covering applications, standards, technologies, and how to make it work for the end user. Preliminary topics likely to be covered include GNSS, augmentation system, aviation, fleet management, vehicle navigation, location based services, marine vessel management, defense and internal security. Invited speakers will represent government, academia as well as private enterprise.
The conference programme consists of five keynote sessions with over 20 keynote speakers, one technology show and two workshops one on Design & Development of Galileo – European Satellite Navigation System by Dr. Guenter Hein, Institute of Geodesy & Navigation, Munich, Germany and other on Modernised GPS by Prof. Per K. Enge, Research Professor, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Stanford University.
Along with keynote session Location Middle East 2006 will also host an exhibition providing an opportunity to introduce to the existing users, the latest advancements, solutions, services and expertise in the field. The Exhibition will showcase the state-of-the-art facilities for national and international organizations representing the government, the academia and the industry displaying their services and products.
