Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping Wins 2004 Innovations in Geospatial Intelligence Award

Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping, LLC announced that it is among the recipients of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) 2004 Innovations in Geospatial Intelligence BAA Award. The winners were cited at the GEOINT 2004 Symposium, held October 12-14, 2004 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

NGA is a Department of Defence combat support agency and a member of the National Intelligence Community whose mission is to provide timely, relevant and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of the United States of America’s national security.

The NGA InnoVision Directorate Selection Committee reviewed 82 proposals from more than 40 organizations. The winning proposals identified new and unique ideas, concepts and systems to meet geospatial intelligence problems.

Among the five companies selected, Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping, Leica Geosystems Defence Solutions is the only one to receive the award two consecutive years. Each organization will receive research and development funds.
