Australia: ESRI Australia will run a series of Technology Directions events in all over Australia in June and July. The seminars will provide practical tips and examples to help boost GIS productivity, leverage existing GIS investment and prepare for the next release of the ArcGIS platform.

Topics will include ready to use online tools, time-saving workflows, tips to make sharing maps easier, as well as all the latest information about ArcGIS 10 and the upcoming Dekho release. Technology Directions will be held in nine locations, Townsville – 8 June, Darwin – 10 June, Brisbane – 16 June, Sydney – 17 June, Perth – 22 June, Adelaide – 23 June, Canberra – 24 June, Hobart – 29 June and Melbourne – 1 July.

In another event, ESRI Australia has announced that it would support Spatial Technology in schools’ competition. The competition is conducted in each State and Territory of Australia, and New Zealand, with a prize awarded for the best project in each region. The winners of each region are then judged to determine the Regional Winner. ESRI Australia is providing free ArcGIS software licences for schools entering in the competition.
