Korea assists Azerbaijan with land information system

Baku, Azerbaijan: The Azerbaijani State Committee on Land and Cartography in collaboration with the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is studying feasibility for land information management and GIS in Azerbaijan, the Committee announced.

The delegation from the committee recently travelled to Korea to participate in the 15th International Conference on GIS and the international event Smart Korea 2011, dedicated to the use of high technology in the field of geodesy, cartography and cadastre.

Earlier, the Committee had signed a grant agreement worth USD 1.5 million with the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on June 23, 2009. The grant agreement within the project called ‘Improvement of the cadastre in Azerbaijan’ was concluded for a period of 18 months.
