Kazakhstan: A state-owned company of Kazakhstan using satellite navigation software to manage logistics. Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary, a company of the Kazakhstan government, has developed a monitoring and control system to track moving objects.
An amount of 1,032,037 tenge (US$2,931) was stashed from the company’s fund to develop the technology; and another 18,729,937 tenge (US$53,195) were received in the form of funds. The system already has clients, including government organisations, such as the National Methodical Centre of Phytosanitary Diagnostics and Projections and Department of the Military Police of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
The system provides software for control of vehicles. The service is provided to the end user along with turnkey installation of the hardware and configuration of navigation equipment to ensure access to the system. After that, the user can browse online the necessary information through his own terminal. Any personal computer with internet access can be used. The subscription fee is charged at the same time every month and provides a variety of service plans for each type of vehicle.
Now Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary aims to increase the annual production of industrial prototypes from 10,000 to 100,000 units.
According to the organisation, the competing systems to provide services for the location of moving objects have several disadvantages. In particular, the impossibility of localisation in the national language, difficulties in connecting to navigation equipment of previously unknown producers and the absence of clearly-established technology to provide all services from installation to maintenance.
In the near future, satellite navigation systems as well as complete solutions based on them will be implemented in all sectors of the economy.
